Power Back On, No Internet At Home
Wow. We got power back last Tuesday after 9 days without it. Talk about hot! Some people still don’t have power. We still haven’t finished cleaning the tree limbs out of the back yard. The entire back yard was covered by tree-sized limbs. I don’t have a chain saw and can’t afford to buy one so the hand sawing work is long and hot.
We don’t have cable back and it’s been 15 days now. I guess we’ll get it back when it comes.
In case you haven’t heard, Baton Rouge and a lot of Louisiana were hammered by Gustav. It’s the worst hurricane we’ve seen locally including Katrina and Rita, and even Betsy in 1965. We were hardly a footnote on the national news, so in case you think we don’t need help, we still do. Please give generously to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund. Ike survivors in Texas will be needing it, too.
